Privacy Policy for Quizvee

1. Introduction

QUIZVEE ONLINE EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANCY SERVICES ("Quizvee," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to safeguarding your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information about users of our website, web application, and mobile applications (collectively, the "Service"), in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) of the Philippines. By using Quizvee, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

When you register for an account, we collect:

  • Full name (first and last name)
  • Email address
  • Profile photo (optional, via Google Sign-In)

We also automatically collect certain non-personal and usage information, including:

  • Device information — device type, operating system, and browser used to access Quizvee.
  • App usage information — frequency of use, feature interactions, and quiz/exam history and results.
  • Purchase information — for mobile purchases, RevenueCat provides us with subscription status and transaction identifiers (not your full payment card details, which are handled entirely by Apple or Google).

We do not collect more personal information than is necessary to provide the Service, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and improve the Service, including generating quizzes and tracking your performance and progress.
  • Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
  • Communicate with you about updates, new features, or changes to the Service.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent unauthorized or suspicious activity.
  • Personalize your experience, including which questions to resurface through the mistake-review feature.
  • Process and verify subscription purchases.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following bases:

  • Consent — you provide consent when you register for and use Quizvee.
  • Contractual necessity — processing your data is necessary for us to provide the Service you've signed up for.
  • Legal obligation — we may need to process data to comply with applicable law.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law. If you delete your account (see Section 10), your data is removed as described there.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or trade your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service providers, strictly to operate the Service, including: Google OAuth (authentication), Supabase (database and storage), Vercel (hosting), Groq and OpenAI (generating AI-assisted answer explanations from your quiz activity), Upstash Redis (caching), PayMongo (processing web payments), RevenueCat (managing mobile subscriptions with Apple and Google), Resend (sending you transactional email), and Google Analytics (aggregate usage analytics).
  • Legal authorities, where required by law, legal process, or to protect our legal rights or the safety of our users.
  • A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to that entity honoring the commitments in this Privacy Policy.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures — including encrypted connections and access controls — to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or outdated data.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data (see Section 10 for how to do this directly in the app).
  • Object — object to certain processing of your data.
  • Data portability — request your data in a commonly used electronic format.
  • File a complaint — with the National Privacy Commission if you believe your rights have been violated.

9. Children's Privacy

Quizvee is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@quizvee.com.

10. Account Deletion

You may permanently delete your Quizvee account at any time from within the mobile app (Settings > Delete My Account). Doing so immediately and permanently removes:

  • Your profile information (name, email, profile photo)
  • All quiz and mock exam history and results
  • Your mistake-review progress and mastery status
  • Your subscription/purchase records tied to your account

This action cannot be undone. Web users may request the same by emailing support@quizvee.com; we will process such requests within a reasonable time. If your subscription is still active at the time of deletion, deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store — you must separately turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.

11. Account Inactivity and Access Restrictions

If your subscription expires, you will no longer be able to generate new quizzes or access premium content until your subscription is renewed. Your account and existing data are retained so you can reactivate your subscription and regain full access at any time, unless you choose to delete your account entirely as described in Section 10.

12. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (see Section 6) may store or process data outside the Philippines. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data continues to receive a level of protection consistent with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

13. Third-Party Links

Quizvee may contain links to third-party websites, videos, or services (for example, reference videos linked from topic articles). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties, and we encourage you to review their own privacy policies.

14. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Quizvee website may use cookies or similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand aggregate usage patterns. The Quizvee mobile app does not use browser cookies but may use comparable local storage and mobile analytics identifiers for the same purposes. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though this may limit some website functionality.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of Quizvee after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
